Introduction: To evaluate the utility of the frontonasal flap as an alternative in patients who refuse a multi-staged paramedian forehead flap to reconstruct the nasal dorsum and supratip post-Mohs micrographic surgery.
Methods: A case series on seven patients who presented for nasal reconstruction in the outpatient setting after having Mohs micrographic surgery. Long-term follow-up (>6 months) was completed with each patient to evaluate flap viability, structure, and patient satisfaction.
Results: In each case, there was high patient satisfaction and flap viability. The anatomical structure of the nose was maintained without major deformity, and there were no complications or indications for revision surgery.
Conclusions: In patients who refuse a multi-staged approach, the frontonasal flap can be used as an alternative to the paramedian forehead flap to reconstruct the dorsum of the nose and the nasal supratip. In special cases where patient anatomy is ideal, the frontonasal flap could be extended distally to reconstruct the nasal tip.
