Endoscopic Excision of Transellar Transsphenoidal Meningoencephalocele: Utilizing Slip Knot Technique

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This is a case of 21-year-old male with true transellar transphenoidal meningoencephalocele. He had short stature, high pitched voice, only few puberty signs and bilateral temporal visual defect. He underwent endoscopic excision of transellar transsphenoidal meningoencephalocele. The surgery utilized slip knots, a technique for deep sutures, to ligate the stalk of the lesion which made transection of the lesion possible. Post operative follow up showed satisfactory results. We hope to demonstrate this technique as it may be a surgical option in patients with large transphenoidal meningoencephalocele.
