PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Cutaneous malignancies continue to be a common problem encountered in many Otolaryngology practices. Recognizing and managing them is an essential part of our responsibilities. The nose is the most common site of these cancers and nasal reconstruction takes on many forms. This seminar is intended to review these principles and provide specific examples of techniques that have proven to work. We will discuss the repair of small and large nasal defects with video demonstrations where appropriate, including some tricks and nuances that are alternatives to traditional algorithms.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the role of Mohs surgery and when to refer.
  2. See the methods of combining local flaps and grafts for a single stage repair of intermediate size nasal defects.
  3. Learn the techniques of repairing large and complex nasal defects that involve the internal nasal lining.
