Hands-On Office Laryngology Procedures

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Office-based laryngology procedures have been shown to be safe, effective, cost-effective, and frequently preferred by patients. However, many clinicians may be hesitant to use these procedures in their practices due to unfamiliarity or inexperience. This hands-on session will provide learners the opportunity to perform common office-based laryngology procedures. Expert laryngologists will be present to teach and assist learners as they practice these procedures on lifelike human models. Offered procedures include transnasal laser ablation, esophageal and airway balloon dilation, all approaches to vocal fold injections, subglottic and tracheal injections, transnasal esophagoscopy, transnasal bronchoscopy, laryngeal biopsy, and superior laryngeal nerve blocks. Experts will also discuss important topics to consider prior to implementing office-based laryngology procedures into one's practice, including billing, anesthesia, instrumentation, and safety measures.
