Diagnosis and Treatment of Benign and Premalignant Oral Lesions

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Oral lesions are common and often result in referral to otolaryngologists. Often, the primary focus is ruling out the diagnosis of cancer. However, many oral lesions are not malignant, and up to date knowledge on the most common benign and premalignant oral lesions is of paramount importance to the practicing otolaryngologist. This interactive session will review the most common oral lesions that are likely to be referred to otolaryngologists, and equip the provider with the knowledge to recognize, diagnose, and treat these conditions. We will highlight oral lesions related to infection, systemic inflammatory disease, medication-related causes, and neoplastic conditions. This program will consist largely of high-quality clinical photography and will incorporate state of the art treatment options from multidisciplinary viewpoints in oral pathology and head and neck surgery.
