Dr. Casiano is an internationally recognized expert in the field of rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery. His area of expertise is in the area of advanced rhinologic endoscopic surgical techniques and the management of complex sinonasal neoplasms. After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana in 1978, Dr. Casiano received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1982. In 1988, he completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, after which he joined the faculty at the University of Miami Department of Otolaryngology. He currently holds the rank of tenured Professor and Vice Chairman of Clinical Affairs, and directs the department’s Advanced Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Fellowship Program. To date, he has mentored over 100 otolaryngology residents and 26 rhinology and endoscopic skull base fellows, many of which are currently serving in some capacity as a rhinologist and/or faculty member at various academic medical centers throughout the country. His clinical and research interests have resulted in 200 peer reviewed research publications, book chapters, or textbooks in the area of rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery. He is a frequently invited guest speaker to numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Casiano continues to be an active member of the American Rhinological Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology H&N Surgery, American College of Surgeons, and Pan-American Association of Otolaryngology H&N Surgery. He has serve in the past as President of the American Rhinologic Society, as well as Secretary General, Treasurer, and President of the Pan-American Association of Otolaryngology H&N Surgery.
