Dr. Zohar Hovev is a medical resident at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital, Ashdod, Israel, and a Teaching Assistant at the Joyce & Irving Goldman Medical School, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel.
She earned her MD from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2021. Her thesis focused on the expression of Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) in CNS metastases. She has served as a teaching instructor for the Neuroanatomy course at Ben-Gurion University and worked as a physician's assistant in the Surgical Emergency and Plastic Surgery departments at Soroka Medical Center.
She has actively participated in various scientific meetings, including the annual meeting of the Israeli Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Israel Association for Auditory Research, the International Society for Otitis Media meeting, and the Israeli Society for Otoneurology annual meeting.
Professionally, Dr. Hovev has served as a medical intern at Soroka Medical Center. She was a research fellow for a period of three months in 2023 at the Otopathology Laboratory in Mass. Eye and Ear.
In terms of community involvement, she founded one of the 'Aleh' volunteering projects and co-founded 'To Know,' a community health education initiative for adults with special needs. She has been a directorate member of Imagine – Israel Africa Voluntary Association and a volunteer at the Association Live in Dignity.
