Valerie Flanary MD, FACS is Professor of Otolaryngology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is a Fellowship trained, Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology Boarded Pediatric Otolaryngologist and has been in practice at MCW since 1994. Dr. Flanary is a Fellow of the Triological Society as well as the American College of Surgeons. She has membership in the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, SENTAC, and the Society of University Otolaryngologists. She has served various leadership roles in the AAOHNS including, Chair, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Chair WIO Awards Committee, and Governing Board of WIO. She is currently VIce President, Middle Section, Triological Society. She served as Member at Large, Academic, on the AAO-HNS Board. She also serves as Director, Racial Equity and Inclusion at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her current practice includes all aspects of Pediatric Otolaryngology. Her research interests include health disparities, tonsil and adenoid disease, and education. She has served as a mentor and sponsor to aspiring medical students, residents, fellows and otolaryngologists.
