Dr. Acosta was born and raised in Venezuela. She studied medicine at the Universidad de Carabobo in Valencia, Venezuela, where she graduated in 2001 and was awarded the Magna Cum Laude academic distinction. After graduation, she accomplished a year of residency on General Surgery as required in her home country before getting into the Otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency, where she graduated in 2006 at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. During her residency, she was elected chief resident. In 2007 she completed one year of fellowship in Rhinology and Endoscopic sinus surgery in the Centro Medico de Caracas. Afterward, she established her private practice in General Otolaryngology at a private hospital in Caracas, before immigrating to the USA. In May 2020 Dr. Acosta joined the Department of Otolaryngology of the University of Miami where she practices as a General ENT, she manages the Smell and Taste Disorders Clinic and the Allergy clinic.
