Medical Student
LSU Health Shreveport
Amber Cradeur is a third-year medical student at LSU Health Shreveport. Before ariving in Northern Louisiana, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2020. When entering medical school, Amber had a desire to explore a field that offered intricate collaberation of technology, delicate anatomy, medicine, and patient care. Naturally, she quickly grew fascinated with the field of otolaryngology and has immersed herself in research experiences to gain further familiarity with the specialty and contribute to scientific innovation. Under great mentorship, she has worked to investigate noise levels in otolaryngology operating rooms and explore the impact on the operating team. In addition, she has had the opportunity to explore other areas of interest as well, under the guidance of faculty and residents. One such project was the study of a simulation model to rehearse nasoseptal repairs of defects in the anterior skull base that was accepted for oral presentation at the NASBS conference in Atlanta, Georgia in 2024. She has also worked alongside a team to better understand the mutational landscape in sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma survival. Amber is very grateful for these extraordinary experiences, the leadership from impactful mentors, and the opportunity to present her research at the AAO-HNSF 2024 Annual Meeting & Oto Expo. At this conference and beyond, she aims to learn more about current research in the field and continue to develop a profound interest in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.
