May Gao is a third-year medical student at Duke University School of Medicine. She graduated from Brown University magna cum laude with a Bachelor's in Public Health and was inducted into the Delta Omega Public Health Honorary Society. At Duke, she serves on the executive board for the ENT interest group and Association of Women Surgeons. Her research centers on health access and equity in head and neck cancer treatment. She is passionate about increasing access to higher education and founded Collab Culture, an advising program that provides free essay reviewing services to first-generation and low-income students.
