Jaime Plane, M.S., University of Chile Medical School, Santiago, Chile
Jaime Plane is a seventh-year medical student at the University of Chile Medical School, with a keen interest in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. Jaime’s research interests include hearing loss induced by platinum-based chemotherapy and obstructive sleep apnea in pediatric patients. Additionally, he is actively involved in a stem cell laboratory in collaboration with the Center of Biotechnology and Bioengineering at his institution, researching the use of mesenchymal stem cells for treating chemotherapy-induced toxicities. Lastly, he is researching the use of immersive technologies in medical education, specifically the use of virtual reality to enhance the learning of middle ear anatomy.
