Horacio Romero Castillo is an NIH TL1 scholar and MD/MSCR candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Long-term, his career goal is to advance sleep research within the field of otolaryngology as a surgeon-scientist. In addition to research on hypoglossal nerve stimulation, throughout medical school he has worked on studies investigating the associations between chronic rhinosinusitis, obstructive sleep apnea, nasal resistance, and upper airway sensitivity. Recently, he was awarded a Supplement Grant from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation to study the relationship between chronic rhinosinusitis and sleep duration and regularity. He is looking forward to applying to otolaryngology residency in the 2024-2025 cycle.
