Dr. Sharma is currently a PGY-4 resident in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is planning on pursuing a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has spent much of his academic career building skills in both basic and clinical science. He completed a year-long, funded, research fellowship during medical school with a focus on developing skills in bioinformatics, epidemiology, big data, and data engineering. He is passionate about applying his skills in data analysis and clinical informatics to answer questions related to the field of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His particular interests include facial nerve paralysis, free flap reconstruction, facial trauma, Mohs reconstruction, computational approaches to practice management, health disparities, and hospital EMR informatics/analytics.
