Dr. Kevin Pereira is the Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital. He is a Professor of Otorhinolaryngology and Pediatrics. He received an honor award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 2006 and has been listed among the Best Doctors in America every year since 2011. He serves as a member on the Maryland Board of Physicians and is a Fellow of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) of the United States.
Dr. Pereira completed Otorhinolaryngology residencies in India and in the United Kingdom. He also completed a Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Pereira is certified in Otolaryngology by the Board of Examiners in India, The Royal College of Surgeons of England and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Pereira is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO), the Inter American Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology and the Society of University Otolaryngologists. He is a well-known expert in the neonatal and pediatric airway and specializes in managing sleep apnea and nasal obstruction in toddlers and infants. His other areas of interest and expertise include neck masses in newborns and children. He has published numerous peer reviewed journal articles and chapters, edited five textbooks and lectured extensively at national and international meetings.
