Miriam Smetak is a 2nd year fellow in Otology & Neurotology at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed her M.D. and a concurrent M.S. in biomedical engineering at the University of Minnesota, followed by residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Miriam leverages her engineering background to solve challenges in the operating room, with a particular focus on human factors and latent sources of error.
