So Watanabe, M.D., is a Department Chief in the department of Otolaryngology at Kohnodai Hospital, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, which is in the suburbs of Tokyo. He received his medical degree from University of Tsukuba in 2000. He completed his otolaryngology residency at Showa University School of Medicine, after which he joined the faculty at Showa University Department of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He also had performed a research fellowship at The University of Chicago and studied under Drs. Robert Naclerio, Fuad Baroody, and Jayant Pinto from 2009 to 2011. He provides comprehensive care for nasal and sinus conditions by leveraging the full range of surgical and non-surgical treatments. He specializes in treating inflammatory diseases such as sinusitis, difficulties with nasal breathing, nose bleeds, smell and taste disorders, and allergies. His research focuses on microbiome and characteristics of inflammatory cells in the inflammatory sinonasal diseases.
