Brandon Jackson Baird is an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and Co-director of the Voice Center for the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is a laryngeal surgeon specializing in a wide range of laryngeal diseases with an emphasis on medical and surgical management of voice and swallowing disorders. He completed residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University and fellowship at Harvard University – Massachusetts General Hospital.
He has a clinical interest in surgical approach and procedural adjuncts for early laryngeal cancer. He also has an interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion and his research interests evaluate the intersection of health disparities and laryngeal cancer outcomes. He serves as co-chair of the U Chicago Department of Surgery steering committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and also serves as one of 8 faculty-appointed Career Advisors to the medical students of Pritzker School of Medicine. Outside of his scholarly interests, he enjoys music composition, singing, and was selected to sing the National Anthem at a Chicago Bulls game in United Center.
