Mauricio A. Moreno, M.D., is the Vice-Chair for Adult Services, and Director of the Head and Neck Division in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He received his medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University Medical School in Chile, and completed residencies in General Surgery at the University of Valparaiso, and in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Chile. Dr. Moreno went on to complete three fellowships in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology, Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery, and Surgical Endocrinology at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Since joining UAMS in 2009, Dr. Moreno has established a busy clinical practice focused in the treatment of advanced head and neck malignancies. His main research interests include strategies to improve outcomes of head and neck microvascular reconstruction, and photodynamic therapy as an alternative therapeutic option in these conditions.
