Daniel H. Coelho, MD, FACS, currently holds the position of G. Douglas Hayden Professor of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, Neurosurgery, Physiology and Biophysics at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he is director of the Division of Otology & Neurotology. He also serves as the Vice Chair for Research well as the director of the VCU Cochlear Implant Center. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree with distinction from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in Otolaryngology at Yale School of Medicine, after which he completed his fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery at New York University. He has lectured extensively both domestically and internationally. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed research articles, chapters, and books.
