Shigeru Hirano MD, PhD is a professor and chair in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine. He is the President of the Japan Society for Head and Neck Surgery. He was on the Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University, 1986-1990.
Research Fellow at Division of Head and Neck Surgery, UCLA, 1999-2000, a research fellow at Division of Head and Neck Surgery, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2001-2003, and Assistant Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Kyoto University, 1998-2003.
He was also Associate Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Kyoto University, 2005-2016.
