I grew up in Los Angeles, California, and I have journeyed to many institutions across the country for my education and training. I received my B.A. in Neuroscience and B.S. in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I continued at the University of Pennsylvania for medical school and received my M.D. I pursued residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California Davis in Sacramento, California. After my residency training, I completed a fellowship in Rhinology & Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. I also pursued additional biostatitics and epidemiology training at the University of California Berkeley, and recieved my M.P.H. I practice at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, where I have a busy clinical tertiary rhinology practice. I also chair the Kaiser Permanente Inter-Regional Rhinology group, and established the Kaiser Permante Northern California Sinus Centers. My clinical interests are: chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps, complex and revision endoscopic sinus surgery, frontal sinus pathology and surgery, endoscopic tear duct surgery (dacryocystorhinostomy) and orbital surgery, sinonasal cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and sinonasal and anterior skull base tumors. I serve as Associate Residency Program Director and Director of Research for the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Otolaryngology Residency Program. I have published many peer-review articles, authored multiple book chapters, and presented at many regional and national meetings. I participate in ongoing clinical research, and I teach residents and students in training.
