Zachary Burgess, MD, MPH is a resident in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX. He received his BS in Neurobiology at the University of Texas at Austin before attending the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) Long School of Medicine and University of Texas School of Public Health earning his MD and MPH concurrently. He completed an internship in General Surgery with the Department of Surgery at UTHSA before entering into his current role at UTMB. He is enjoying a broad education in ENT but has growing interest in pursuing Sleep Surgery fellowship training after residency. He enjoys being involved in medical student education and has research interests in quality improvement and guideline review particularly in pediatric otolaryngology and sleep surgery. In his free time, he enjoys smoking Texas style barbecue, traveling the country, and spending time with friends and family.
