**Zhengnong Chen** is the Deputy Director, Chief Physician, and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focuses on hearing loss and lateral skull base diseases. Dr. Chen specializes in diagnosing and treating lateral skull base and ear diseases, and excels in surgeries related to otology, ear neurosurgery, and skull base surgery.
In 2008, Dr. Chen advanced his ear surgery techniques at the University of Würzburg in Germany. In 2012, he studied skull base surgery at the renowned Gruppo Otologico in Italy. He is proficient in communicating the latest academic advancements in his field with international experts in English.
Dr. Chen serves on the editorial boards of the Chinese Journal of Otology, Chinese Medical Journal (English Edition), and Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is the Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Chairman of the Ear Neurology and Lateral Skull Base Microsurgery Committee.
Dr. Chen received a First-Class Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (fifth contributor) and a Second-Class Science and Technology Progress Award (third contributor). He was selected for the "New Hundred Talents Program" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2011 and was named an Outstanding Young Physician by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association in 2013. In 2015, he was included in the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program and the High Peak and Plateau Talent Program. Dr. Chen has secured four National Natural Science Foundation grants and published 73 SCI papers, with 43 as the first or corresponding author. He has translated two medical monographs: "Microsurgical Techniques of Acoustic Neuroma" and "Microsurgical Techniques of Skull Base Paraganglioma".
