Shelby C. Leuin, MD, FACS, is a pediatric otolaryngologist at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego and is a Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Leuin earned her medical degree at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and completed her residency training at the Harvard Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Program, followed by pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Children's Hospital Colorado.
Her clinical interests focus on mid-facial abnormalities, including congenital and acquired nasal deformities, nasal dermoids, and cleft and craniofacial anomalies. Her ongoing research examines the impact of septoplasty and functional septorhinoplasty on quality of life in the pediatric population.
She is actively involved in the education of trainees and is the program director of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship.
She is passionate about leadership and is the Chief of Staff at Rady Children's Hospital. She has previously served as Otolaryngology Section Chief and as the Chair of the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Leuin was born and raised in Southern California. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
