Dr. Hogikyan is Professor and Associate Chairman of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School, and a Faculty Ethicist with the University of Michigan Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine. He is a subspecialist in Laryngology and Clinical Medical Ethics, and serves as Chief of the Division of Laryngology, and Director of the University of Michigan Vocal Health Center. His residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery was at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri, and his fellowship in Laryngology was under Dr. Robert Bastian at Loyola University of Chicago. Dr. Hogikyan joined the University of Michigan faculty in 1995. He more recently undertook a fellowship in Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, from where he graduated in 2019.
