Tobias Kleinjung, MD, born in 1967 in Gießen/Germany, is currently Professor of Otorhinolayngology at the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland. He studied medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich/Germany from 1988 to1995, from 1995 to 2002 scientific assistant at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, University of Regensburg/Germany. In 2001 he completed his specialist training in Otorhinolaryngology. From 2002-2010 senior physician at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, University of Regensburg/Germany. From 2006-2010 head of the interdisciplinary tinnitus clinic at the University of Regensburg. Since 2011, head of the outpatient clinic and Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University Hospital of Zurich/Switzerland.
Focus of research: new treatment strategies in sudden hearing loss and tinnitus, treatment of chronic tinnitus with neuromodulation, neuroimaging of tinnitus.
Publications: multiple articles on treatment and diagnosis of tinnitus in scientific journals, co-editor of “Textbook of Tinnitus” (2nd edition, Springer, 2024) and “Tinnitus – Pathophysiology and Treatment” (Elsevier, 2007)
