Summer Xu grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut and received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia. During a gap year, she pursued her culinary interests by working as a cook in several restaurants in Boston. She is now a fourth year medical student at the University of Connecticut where she has explored research in craniosynostosis, vestibular schwannomas, and sleep apnea. She is applying to otolaryngology for the 2025 application cycle.
