Resident Physician
Kaiser Permanente Med Group - Northern California
Oakland, CA, United States
My name is Samuel Antonio Collazo (MD), and I am a resident physician in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I completed both my undergraduate (Cellular and Molecular Biology) and my medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico.
During a summer internship at the University of Utah, my intellectual interest and passion for a meaningful contribution to improving healthcare deficits were joined in the field of Otolaryngology. The exceptional ability to combine medical and surgical care in modalities that improve fundamental processes such as speech, sleep, hearing, smell, and taste allows an otolaryngologist to profoundly impact patient experiences in forming lifelong health and wellbeing. Furthermore, my volunteer work in need-based clinics has highlighted patients’ challenges in accessing otolaryngology services, especially for those with existing barriers to healthcare, and has reinforced my commitment to developing strategies to minimize them.
I am honored to be working at Kaiser Permanente alongside a team that prioritizes patient care and values a sense of camaraderie. Upon completing residency, my goal is to use my training as a physician in Latin America, providing high-quality care to those disenfranchised and currently unable to access treatment.
Finally, in my free time, I enjoy playing table tennis and running.
