Deepthi Akella, MS, is a fourth-year medical student at UIWSOM in San Antonio, TX, applying for residency in otolaryngology. Deepthi is originally from Des Moines, Iowa. She studied Biology and Health Administration at Creighton University before earning a master’s in Biomedical Sciences. Since her first year of medical school, Deepthi has pursued her passion for otolaryngology through research in otology, comprehensive, and pediatric otolaryngology. She founded her school's ENT interest group and contributes to national organizations like Headmirror and The Auricle. As a student board member of the annual Otolaryngology Chautauqua, she is dedicated to otolaryngology education, research, and advocacy. Deepthi is excited to present at the AAO-HNSF annual meeting this year!
