Dr. Daniel Sharbel is an assistant professor and head and neck surgeon at the Medical College of Georgia's Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Augusta University. Dr. Sharbel is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and attended the University of Georgia for undergraduate studies, where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology in 2012. He subsequently attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine where he served as a member of the school’s Honor Council, was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, and graduated Cum Laude. He then completed residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. During residency training, Dr. Sharbel was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He additionally completed several research projects that were presented at national meetings and have been published within the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery literature. His residency training was followed by completion of a one-year Head and Neck Oncology, Microvascular Reconstruction, and Cranial Base Surgery clinical fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Sharbel’s clinical interests include malignancies of the upper aerodigestive tract, head and neck microvascular reconstruction, parapharyngeal space tumors, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary tumors, benign and malignant soft tissue tumors of the head and neck, and cutaneous malignancies.
