Alexander Chern, MD, is a fellow in otology, neurotology, and skull base surgery at Johns Hopkins University. He completed his residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia/Weill Cornell) and received his M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and his B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and articles educating the public about hearing loss. His research interests include music perception and appreciation, cochlear implantation, and the effects of hearing loss on the brain.
