Michael Denham, MD, MS, MPhil, is a PGY-1 resident physician at the Medical University of South Carolina. He graduated with his MD and MS in Biomedical Sciences from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. As a Dean’s Research Fellow at Columbia for 2022-2023, he worked with Dr. Justin Golub to investigate the relationship between hearing loss and dementia. Michael is an inaugural member of Columbia’s Narrative Medicine Journalism Workshop, and his writing has been published in Nautilus Magazine, New York Daily News, Orange County Register, and the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate. Additionally, Michael was a 2022 Medical Fellow through the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE). He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and a BA in Economics from Louisiana State University, as well as an MPhil in Health, Medicine, and Society from the University of Cambridge.
