Moaz Sinan, M.D. is a fourth year resident in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in History and Neuroscience and subsequently obtained his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. During medical school, he completed a pre-doctoral research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health where he focused on gene therapy for the treatment of Usher Syndrome Type Ib. He has had extensive research experiences spanning the gamut of otology/neurotology including projects dealing with oxidative stress with noise-induced hearing loss and use of neurotrophic factors for the improvement of spiral ganglion survival in implanted ears. He hopes to continue these research interests as he progresses through residency and in the future as an attending.
