PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: An updated course outlining the current concepts in cochlear implantation in children and infants. Focus will include updates in diagnostics and pre-operative evaluation, available technology as well as new and expanding indications including single sided deafness. Practical pearls with a focus on the improvement of surgical and clinical outcomes will occur throughout the lecture.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Implement the latest advances in both diagnostic and pre-operative evaluation of infant and child with sensorineural hearing loss into clinical practice.
  2. Recognize areas for expanded criteria in cochlear implantation.
  3. Examine the challenges and barriers to achieving early implantation.
