PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This panel will follow a case-based approach to the evaluation and management of dermatologic issues in otolaryngology. This multidisciplinary panel will combine the expertise from dermatology, otology, and facial plastic reconstructive surgery to provide a comprehensive approach to infectious, inflammatory, and other benign and pre-malignant skin conditions seen by ENTs. Management options ranging from systemic and topical medications (antiseptics, antimicrobials, anti-inflammatory) to clinic procedures to surgical care will be discussed. Considerations when treating patients with systemic conditions which can manifest in the ear, face and neck such as eczema, psoriasis, lupus, and other dermatidites will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize morphology and symptoms of dermatologic conditions affecting the ear canal, pinna, face and neck.
  2. Describe treatment strategies in the management of dermatologic conditions involving the ear, nose, face and neck.
  3. Review the range of topical steroid therapies and their alternatives.
