PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: With the expansion of techniques for facial reanimation and limited data available to guide recommendations, many points of care are left to individual surgeon preference. Incomplete paralysis in particular poses a unique challenge and presents some of the most difficult cases that may involve synkinesis and hypercontracture in addition to weakness in different areas.

Learning Objectives:

  1. recognize the challenges of treating incomplete facial palsy and how this differs from complete flaccid paralysis.
  2. describe the range of treatment options for patients with incomplete facial palsy.
  3. offer appropriate treatments for patients based on their unique pattern of palsy.
