PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Laryngeal stroboscopy is a fundamental tool in the diagnosis and management of voice disorders. This panel session will employ a video case-based discussion format to delve into specific examples illustrating the use of laryngeal stroboscopy to aid diagnosis of voice disorders, therapeutic decision-making, and feedback regarding the physiologic impacts of treatment. Attendees will walk away with improved laryngeal stroboscopic interpretation skills as well as a conceptual framework for application in clinical practice caring for patients with voice disorders.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Interpret laryngeal stroboscopic findings to accurately diagnose voice disorders that may easily be missed or misdiagnosed without stroboscopy.
  2. Explain how clinical details gleaned from laryngeal stroboscopic exams can inform shared decision-making regarding approaches to treatment.
  3. Analyze outcomes of treatments such as office-based procedures and surgery in the context of physiologic impact on phonatory function.
