Lee M. Akst, MD, is Director of Laryngology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. After completing his undergraduate and medical school studies at Yale, he did his Residency in Otolaryngology at the Cleveland Clinic before completing his Fellowship in Laryngology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Akst's clinical interests are in microlaryngeal surgery, office-based approaches to treatment of laryngeal disease, vocal fold leukoplakia, evidence-based treatment of possible laryngopharyngeal reflux, and evolution of robotic techniques in microlaryngeal surgery.
