My name is Shayanne A. Lajud Guerrero. I am an Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon currently practicing Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Puerto Rico. I am originally from Santiago, Dominican Republic where I was born and raised. I went to Pontifica Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra Medical School in Santiago, Dominican Republic. After obtaining my MD I spent 3 years at the University of Pennsylvania doing a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Gene and Molecular Therapy for Head and Neck Cancer and Ear diseases. I then completed 2 years of General Surgery Residency in the Surgery Department at Emory University and subsequently completed a 5 year Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico. Finally, I completed a 2-year fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Toronto and returned to the University of Puerto Rico as staff.
