Zachary Elwell, MD, is a 2nd year resident in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Arizona. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Biochemistry and Spanish Literature and Culture from Arizona State University. He completed his MD at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. He serves on the leadership team of the Global OHNS Initiative as an Advisory Committee Member for the Regional Representative Team, Regional Representative for the Americas, and Research Mentorship Program Co-Lead. He serves on the national leadership team of the Global Surgery Student Alliance as the Vice President of Residents and Trainees and as an Equity Initiative Committee Member. His research efforts focus on global otolaryngology, global surgical education, pediatric otolaryngology, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He lives in Tucson, AZ, where he enjoys hiking and trail running.
