Carolina Chu, MS is a 4th year medical student at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She attended the Johns Hopkins University where she completed a BS/MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology and conducted research on the epigenetics of germline stem cells with Dr. Xin Chen. At the University of Iowa, under the mentorship of Dr. Douglas Bennion and Dr. Marlan Hansen, she began investigating the potential role that renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockers could have on providing otoprotection against noise induced hearing loss. She will be applying for residency in Otolaryngology this year.
