Ivan El-Sayed, MD is Co-Director of the Center for Minimally Invasive Skull Base Surgery at the University of California San Francisco with concurrent appointment in the UCSF Department of Neuroogical Surgery. He is fellowship trained in Otolaryngology- head and neck oncologic surgery. His practice is focused on tumors and disorders of the antero-lateral skull base which he has managed via open and endoscopic approaches. He has extensive experience with tumors, neoplasms and diseases of the skull base since 2003. He research interest include virtual reality in skull base education as co-director of the UCSF Skull Base and Cerebrovascular Anatomy Laboratory and also novel medical applications of nanotechnology. HIs nanotechnology work has been highly cited reflecting possilble new mechanisms to diagnose and treat cancer.
