Marcela Morán is a 4th year medical student from the Albany Medical College (AMC) in route to a career in Otolaryngology. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at UC San Diego where she also completed a one-year post-baccalaureate program. Marcela completed a one-year Clinician Scientist Training Program (CSTP) fellowship at USC with the OHNS department. Her research focuses on adapting a powerful imaging modality (Optical Coherence Tomography) to assess pathological ears more accurately in the clinic. . She aspires to become an academic Otolaryngologist to serve patient populations with limited access to specialty health care and continue doing research to address the needs of marginalized communities. She also aspires to continue mentoring, recruiting, and supporting students from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds with the goal of diversifying the medical workforce to properly serve a growing minority patient population.
