Amrita Hari-Raj, MD is an Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery resident and a postdoctoral research scholar at Washington University in St. Louis. She is in the second of two years of dedicated research between PGY-2 & PGY-3 in the R25 Physician-Scientist Training Program. She is also a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation degree candidate, to be awarded in spring 2025. Her research is in the clinical outcomes realm under the mentorship of Dr. Jay F. Piccirillo & Dr. Emily A. Spataro improving the care of patients with eustachian tube dysfunction and nasal obstruction as well as optimizing pain management after craniomaxillofacial trauma. She is the Principal Investigator of a randomized controlled trial examining the impact of perioperative nerve blocks vs. placebo on opioid use after facial trauma surgery, for which she received the AO CMF Resident Research Grant. After training, Dr. Hari-Raj plans to be an academic facial plastic & reconstructive surgeon-scientist.
