Chareeni Kurukulasuriya is a PGY-1 ENT resident at NYU. She completed her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2024 and graduated from Yale University in 2016 with a BS in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology. Prior to medical school, she worked at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for three years as a clinical trials coordinator in the bone marrow transplant department and graft-versus-host disease long term follow up clinic. There, she helped coordinate phase II/III clinical trials involving novel GVHD drug therapies as well as inpatient palliative care studies and outpatient mental health initiatives for BMT recipients. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in otolaryngology, specifically in head and neck oncology, with a focus on improving both treatment and QOL outcomes for her patients through continued research.
