Dr. Fiona Kabagenyi is a lecturer in the Department of Ear Nose and Throat at Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. She is currently the only Paediatric Otolaryngologist dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare to children in Uganda and has emerged as a leading figure in the field of paediatric otolaryngology in the region.
Dr. Kabagenyi completed her medical degree at Mbarara University of Science and Technology and pursued her residency in Otolaryngology at Makerere University. She then specialized in Paediatric Otolaryngology at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, at the University of Cape Town.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Kabagenyi is deeply involved in medical education. She is a dedicated mentor to aspiring paediatric otolaryngologists within her setting. As a CHESA fellow (2023-2024), Dr. Kabagenyi is working to contribute to the understanding and advancement of paediatric otolaryngology, particularly management of paediatric airway conditions in a multidisciplinary approach, in the context of resource-limited settings. She is a member of the Global OHNS and PENTAFRICA , and an advocate for global health equity.
