Harvard Medical School
Maryann Zhao is a fourth year MD student at Harvard Medical School in the Health Science and Technology program. As an undergraduate at Pomona College, her interests were in using molecular biology techniques to develop RNA-based biosensors for detecting small molecules. Prior to medical school, she spent two years at the Broad Institute in Dr. Aviv Regev's lab applying genomic techniques to understand mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy in melanoma and define immune cell states involved in autoimmune disease. Her current research interests in otolaryngology include evaluating immunotherapy approaches for the treatment of head and neck cancer with Dr. Ravi Uppaluri, determining socioeconomic factors influencing cochlear implant outcomes with Dr. James Naples and evaluating the credibility of patient reported outcome measures in ENT with Dr. Matthew Naunheim.
