Professor
Thomas Jefferson University - Department of Otolaryngology
Dr. Marc Rosen completed his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University and received his medical degree from The State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Dr. Rosen completed his surgical internship and otolaryngology residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Marc Rosen is an outstanding educator who has pioneered the development of educational models for teaching endoscopic sinus surgery and complex skull base procedures. He is sought after as a collaborator on both clinical and research projects. He has developed numerous programs to improve residency education in endoscopic sinus surgery and has taught symposia on computer assisted endoscopic sinus surgery and on the development of minimally invasive endoscopic procedure for treatment of skull base processes. He is a skilled clinician and surgeon, who has achieved national recognition in the field of minimally invasive endoscopic skull base surgery and complex sinus surgery revision with three-dimensional imaging support. Dr. Rosen has spearheaded together with Dr. James Evans from neurosurgery, the concept development and establishment of the Jefferson Minimally Invasive Skull Base Surgery Center. This Center is recognized locally and nationally as a leader in this field. It is one of three such programs in United States. Their contributions are recognized at international, national, and local levels. The Center serves as a model for other Jefferson Centers. This forum allows for the collaboration of clinicians, scientists and industry engineers in the interdisciplinary treatment of patients with complex disease of the skull base. The Minimally Invasive Skull Base Surgery Center has developed a research laboratory, which allows for the training of residents and students from local and national medical centers to be exposed to and educated in the techniques of minimally invasive skull base surgery.
