Lauren Schlegel is resident at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. During her medical school career, she completed a one-year research fellowship in the Thomas Jefferson University Health Design Lab developing an expertise in 3D printing and focusing on applications of rapid prototyping in surgical planning, patient education, and development of simulation task trainers. She has constructed and validated novel tools for training residents to manage emergent surgical airways and perform difficult procedures like nasal osteotomy. Additionally, Lauren focuses on thyroid cancer research investigating the prognostic significance of rare molecular mutations on indeterminate nodules and patient education interventions.
